Assign IP to specific interface in a bridge vs to the bridge itself.

Hi,

I just wanted to know the following:

If I have eth1 and wlan1 assigned to bridge1, what difference does it make if I assign an IP to eth1 instead of bridge1 or viceversa? I seems to work both ways.

It’s the same, but I prefer assign ip address to bridge interface.

You should assign all settings to the bridge. If you put it on a interface instead it is going to get invalid.
