At a loss: WLAN to WAN Fast, WLAN to LAN Slow, LAN to LAN Fast

I’ve been trying to nail down this issue for awhile now. I have a Cent OS file server hardwired to an 2011uias-2hnd I recently bought. I use a laptop on WIFI with Fedora on it to transfer files to this Centos Server. When I hard wire the laptop I get 10MBps. When I try and upload a file on WIFI I get 200kbps-700kbps. To make things more confusing when I run a speed test on WIFI to the WAN I get 40-50Mbps down and 12Mbps up.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Any idea would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Are You using smb to do the transfer? If so, this my be the problem. The smb protocol is highly dependent upon latency and uses a huge number of small packets.

Try a ping to the server, trough LAN and wireless. Compare the results.

Also, try to download a big file through HTTP or send something with scp. These protocols are better with higher latency than smb.
