From within the LAN, I can telnet, SSH, and browse to the router. However, when coming in from the WAN and using the same username and password, I get red letters below the login “Authentication failed: invalid username or password”
How can it be invalid if it works from the LAN? I am using RouterOS v6.25

Do you have it configured where remote management is enabled?
I am not in front of my CCR, so I cannot give you the specific menu where that option is found.
I have gone through every menu and don’t see an option to allow remote access. I have another routerboard that is working fine. Not sure what’s wrong with this one.
it probably your username & password is only allowed within local LAN addess.
