hello
i m new in this field.i m using 532A router board with WLM54SAG23 atheros card.and atheros have chipset AR5414 but in router board it shows AR5413.i used router OS v2.9.42
so plz any one tell me whats wrong with my atheros or routerboard?
anything required to change setting in router board 532A?
if driver required for Atheros from where i can find it and how can i upgrad
in routerboard?
I had a problem with Senao 5601 cards, reporting as AR5413, but mine are on a PC chassis, not RouterBoard. Basically the system is unusable it crashes as soon as you try to connect to it either via wireless or via CLI and local keyboard.
MikroTik support say the R52 cards work OK. I guess there is some subtle difference between different manufacturer’s cards or maybe the miniPCI to PCI adapter is the problem.
I have read that the AR5413/4 cards draw so much power that you mustn’t use more than two on a RouterBoard. I wonder if my problem is lack of power on the PCI bus to drive this card, but other than an Ethernet card there’s nothing else on the PCI slots, so it should drive at least one card properly.
Unfortunately if the R52 cards work and others don’t, MikroTik won’t be too bothered at trying to find a solution.
So MikroTik support if you’re reading this, prove me wrong and look into this problem properly, it’s more than just me out here having problems with Atheros 5601 chipset cards. I just got fobbed off with the usual excuse, “not had any other reports of this” when I emailed support a few weeks ago.
Well I’ve seen several reports in the Forum, so let’s have a solution or at least look into it and prove whether the problem is with the card manufacturer or your software. Your website says RouterOS supports AR5413/4 chipset cards, you don’t qualify this to say you only support R52 cards, so either do some testing with other manufacturers’ cards or state in your supported hardware that only R52s have been tested to work. You shouldn’t make sweeping supported hardware claims unless you can back this up with real test results.
I paid over USD600 for 10 AR5413 cards on the basis of the supported hardware list and now they’re useless, until I get a realistic solution…
