Attach Mikrotik RB951G-2HnD to (non-MT) Cisco Router AP

I have a mikrotik hotspot set up with Wifi, Radius Server and UserManager. Working nicely thank you. Unfortunately its wifi range wont cover entire building.

The MT-Box currently has its own dynamic IP of 192.168.1.100

I also have a perfectly good (non-MikrotikT) $150 dollar Cisco/Linksys E2500 router going to waste). I UNDERSTAND that proprietary MT to MT is preferred by the Company, but $$ are already spent !! … NOTE: I can even flash this Ciso Router with DD-WRT firmware if need be..

Now: I WISH to connect the MT-box by Ethernet cable to the Cisco (or /DD-WRT) router. Probably MT’s ether5 to the Cisco’s INTERNET/WAN Port.

SO; I simply want the Cisco/dd-wrt AP to pass all wifi and cable traffic through to the MT Box for Radius authentication, User Management, Traffic Throttling, etc.

Currently, I set up Cisco as a Bridge. No Wifi security. BUT..it gives away free internet. ALSO no Radius authentication page pops up.

Anyone got any hints or tips? E.g. For Configuring for MT-Box AND/OR for the Cisco? I can send SUPOUT file if needed.

using bridge on your Cisco Router AP should be solve the problem. can you show your topology?

Sure; Topology jpeg right here:

Sorry about the delay. I was starting to despair/lament that Mikrotik is SOOO proprietary that people in the forum are/were too snobby or afraid to admit that someone in the world used a Router brand OTHER than MikroTik to connect to their network.

I kindly look forward to your reply / suggestions.

Also.. As a quick update… I have managed to set up the MikroTik with a STATIC IP now … 192.168.1.250 …
This was done via the upstream TPLink router and –

(a) setting its DHCP Address pool to 192.168.1.100 to 200
(b) setting the TPLink to see Mikrotik as STATIC using both its MAC address and IP Address at 192.168.1.250
