Audience Tri-band AP. Can I, Should I, Switch qcom Drivers

Hardware is:

The wifi package - wifi-qcom- is not listed, only the RouterOS and wireless packages. So I’m not even sure if the upgrade is possible

While composing this query I just noticed that a similar question was asked regarding the RB5009

Worth moving from wireless to wifi-qcom in a CAPsMAN setup?

For the RB5009 it was suggested that the qcom package was memory intensive and the package/driver change should be done via netinstall. Would this also apply to the Audience AP.

I changed mine over shortly after I got it. I don’t remember any drama, but my usage is pretty basic home use. I have all three radios running an SSID with a couple of different “guest” networks for specific things.

qcom-wifi-ac does perform a lot better and the audience has a lot more storage than other ac devices so everything should be fine

Execute the usual "check for updates" as you would do for ROS update. It also refreshes the package list. You'll the see all other packages - inactive - as well. Uninstall wireless, install wifi-qcom-ac and confirm reboot. Be aware, your wireless config is not migrated. You need to configure wifi from scratch.

Thanks to all who replied. After stumbling around for a few hours I accidentally followed infabo’s instructions and got wifi working with wifi-qcom-ac.
