So am testing the new Audience product. I’m powering it with the POE from a PWRline Pro.
If the Ethernet cable linking the two devices was accidentally plugged into port 2 on the Audience instead of port 1, would the Audience be damaged, or is is it designed to cope with this scenario?
Did you plug it in port 2 ?
There is no reference in the manual if the pwrline pro uses an “auto on” or “forced on” POE philosophy so in the first case it wont damage anything because no power will be supplied in the second port.
The PWRline Pro uses a very small selector switch on the side to turn on 24v passive POE. I won’t be plugging it in to port 2 on the Audience just yet, but if I sell the Audience device and PWRline pro to an end user, you can bet they will at some point in the future… sooner or later.
