mAP
The mAP is a tiny size wireless 2.4GHz Access Point with full RouterOS capabilities. It is very portable, since it accepts power from a wide variety of sources - USB, Passive or Active PoE (802.3af and 802.3at) and power jack. It also works as a PoE injector - the second Ethernet port provides up to 500mA of power to another device, for example, you can connect a SXT CPE device to it.

A warm welcome to the new members of the family! I am (im)patiently waiting for the store availability of the mAP and the NetMetal.

I have a question though: which antennas would you recommend for pairing with the 3 chain NetMetal, for an outdoor wide area PtMP network?

It’s all already on routerboard.com store!

I can’t suggest one 3x3 antenna because actually I never searched that.

Hi All,

Maybe stupid question, but are the new 802.11ac routerboards backward compatible with 802.11n devices on 5Ghz?

Thanks for clarification…

Just a quick note, the new CRS109-8G-1S-2HnD-IN is not AC wireless. Sadly the mAP isn’t either.

Yes, of course, they support legacy 802.11n as well. There is a combined ac/n mode as well.

And where is writed which are “ac” models? :open_mouth:
"August new products, “ac” and others… "

Having “ac” on indoor products are non-sense, because you can interfer yourself with CPE client if you use more than 20+20MHz channel…

What antennas can we use with the 3x3 radios ?

Hello,

i need to buy a new AP for my Wirless and home use indoor…
i want to buy the new R11 with 802.11ac… they fall back to 5ghz n is it right ? ..

what do you think about this interaface for indoor home use in a house ???
is 500mW too much gainpower for organic brains ???

can i use it or is it toooo much for the healthy ?

802.11ac products can fall back to n rates, they will work with older devices.
The output power can be adjusted. You can lower it from the settings and check if you have good coverage.
