Hi
I am trying to do a bandwidth test to a 532 (lvl4) router from my 133c router (lvl3). i keep getting a auth.failed. Any one know how to fix or alternative way to do bandwidth test to router 532.
Also is it better to have 2 120 degrees sector antennas or five directional antennas ?
Thanks
For your first question, there are two solutions.
You can disable the username/password on the router you are running the bandwidth test to.
On the router to which you are running th bandwidth test, go to tools, btest server and unclick authenticate.
Better practice is to keep the authentication so that other users of your network who are familiar with MT may not run bandwidth test to your MT devices. With Authenticate clicked (default), on the router from which you are running bandwidth test go to tools, btest, advanced tab and enter the username/password of your admin account on the router you are running btest to.
That’s all.
For your second question, 4 90degree sectors would do the trick. Better to have a separate radio for each, else you can use a splitter on one radio or two splitters on two radios. In the latters, use more powerful radios.
The four sectors with the splitter form an omni with a clover shaped coverage area, not 100 percent circular. You can also start with 2 180 degree sectors, yet you might need to add sectors as your clients increase. Also, try to keep the frequencies as far as possible on 2.4Ghz.
Thank You works like a charm
