Auto Updates over a HTTP Proxy

Hi All

Been running RouterOS for a while now - don’t have any official training and have a fairly simple setup - so haven’t had to do much with them, and hence haven’t hit these forums before.

I would like to do auto software updates - I do this all the time on my home Mikrotik and ones at other sites that have direct internet, my problem is with one site we have - is that it doesn’t have direct internet access - all internet access is through a http proxy server (just a simple Sophos - no AUTH or anything)

Is there a way to do upgrades over http proxy? I have set parent proxy server and even enabled the local proxy - but it seems that this only applies to other computers connecting to the Mikrotik - not the Mikrotik router itself.

Haven’t been able to find any solutions in the forums - but I vaguely remember getting this working in the past with an extra NAT rule and I think I had to do it all by command line… but don’t have any notes on it. Don’t want to have to resort to manual upgrade - auto updates are so nice!

Any help much appreciated!

Steve

hi,

we have the same problem. Our devices have no direct internet connection, only over a proxy.
