Hey folk,

I use a AWS mikrotik image from the AWS Marketplace: https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/B01E00PU50

I’ve tried to update the routeros image but I got following error: Couldn’t perform action - not permitted (9)

It looks like that the file permissions are not correct.
Can somebody help me here?

This error happens if you log in with a user, that has no “write” rights on his group. Make sure you weren’t compromised during the time you were setting up your device, and didn’t have a password yet.

Bots start hammering the amazon VMs mere seconds after you spin them up. Immediately set a password.
