Just pick up a hap ax3. It took me a while to make it work on my home networking environment. However, I found the v7 WiFi not showing the TX power. On CAPsMAN, my older devices are fine. How can I get the TX power info from WiFi? Is there any reason hiding this information?
Are your devices, which are showing Tx power, running legacy wireless driver? Wave2 driver (wifi-qcom and wifi-qcom-ac) is a completely different beast than (legacy) wireless and is lacking quite some features.
It doesn’t work properly on my ax2 anyway, ie there are two TX-Power colums that can be added. here is the nub of it, when I add the colum then close wifi window. The TX-Power tab will be empty when I re-open the wifi window.
There are 2 columns called “Tx Power”. Sometimes the first one has the data, after a Winbox reconnect the other column has the data. It is completely bogus and it is a long lasting issue that there are duplicate column names in the column list. I’ve seen/read reports in release topics many times. But MT does not give a f**.
Thank you, all of you.
I can see the TX power now! It will disappear if the wifi window was closed. And, there are 2 TX power columns! That’s weird enough.
Before hap ax3, all my devices were V6. It took me lot of time upgrading to V7, especially the wireless part. It had changed so much . Before V7.12, there was even Wifiwave2 package. When I looked for instructions online, this confused me most. There is no Wifiwave2 on my AX device!
