AX minipci-e for ISP in plan?

Hello,

does anybody know if there is a plan for AX wifi minipci-e cards for RB? Or at least some RB912 or RB911 with AX chipset?
I have my full network based on Mikrotik’s but now, I cannot upgrade nothing, concurrency is more ahead for this situation.

Thanks for any answer

+1 Yes

RBM11G + R11e-5HaxD would be a good combination !

Nope. The wifiwave2 package won’t fit in its 16MB flash storage
RBM33G wouldn’t work either.

That’s annoying, I didn’t think of that. In that case, release a new M11 revision with bigger flash or straight away RB922UAGS-5HPaxD

What about Mikrotik? Please answer

Currently, AX wireless NICs are not supported, for example, on x86 WifiWave2 package is only meant for CAPsMAN usage.

Not even using already supported chipsets???

Glad I read here before buying them…

Maybe a notice elsewhere…

On future on x86/CHR???

That’s REALLY disappointing. I was hoping that with wifiwave2 being based on Qualcomm driver, it would increase compatibility of wifi chipsets and supported hardware, but instead we go from “at least 802.11n works” to “nothing works anymore”.
Especially on x86, where debugging is much easier and also you don’t need to bother with slimming down the driver like on embedded devices. It would be perfect platform for testing compatibility of various Qualcomm radio chipsets, just build the driver with all the hardware support it can possibly offer and let the community do the testing for you. We are happy to help you.
But just don’t abandon wireless on x86 completely, that would really suck.
