Ax3 crashes network

my network used to have three of the EERO access points currently and a Microtik router.

The problem with the EERO as you can’t separate the 2.4 and the 5.0 bands and a lot of devices I use for home automation want the 2.4 only.

I recently added two of the MikroTik HAP Ax3 and are using them for an access point in addition to the EERO.

The AX3 works great, but it seems to be doing something to the network and knocking devices off-line. Like all of my house room thermostats are connected to the EERO as well as a lot of my sensors for like temperature and things like that.

I checked the channels and they seem to be on different channels. The AX3 is on 7+1 and the EERO is on 6+1.

I don’t know what the +1 means that’s just what it says on the scanner application. Sorry I’m just a basic user.

so far, it looks like if I unplug one of the AX3 then everything else else is staying now online. I’ve been watching the various devices for the last hour and with some plugged, they haven’t dropped off at least what I’ve noticed anyway.

So the question is, what do I change? The AX3 has a lot better signal strength but I can’t possibly change every single device in one fell swoop to use the AX3. it seems there must be something I can change? any suggestions?

I don’t know either what 6+1 / 7+1 stands for. Better use an app like analiti for Android.
But maybe it is channel 6 and channel 7. That is too close even for 20mhz channel width. Restrict your 2.4ghz channels to 20mhz and set them wide apart. Use a scanner app like analiti (or frequency scan on AX3) to find the least occupied channels. Best to use channel 1, 6 or 11 in 2.4gjz spectrum. Good luck.
