Hello,
I have a POE dlink switch 8 port, and i wasn’t able to power on the ax3. Is there something extra to do? I also have a poe injector which i’ve used before with a ac2 but I’m wondering if it’s possible to use the switch to power this?
Hello,

Nope. hAP ax3 supports passive PoE-in … with allowed voltage range between 18V and 28V. See product info: https://mikrotik.com/product/hap_ax3
Your DLink is most probably a 803.2af/at/… compliant switch which requires proper handshake between PSE (PoE switch) and PD (powered device) … and PD has to support up to 57V as power input voltage.
The PoE injector you previously used with hAP ac2 can probably be used for powering hAP ax3 (best with power adapter, shipped together with hAP ax3)
Thank you.
This explains itZ i was not aware of the 803.2af/at “active poe” was different- my new equipment is not compatible and so the device won’t power on.
Thank you.
