when I set atheros as ap in b/g mode, most (90%) cant see it
will this be fixed or?
could you please explain this a bit more?
what do you mean with “b/g mode”? afaik there is no b/g-mode, only b or g?!
what does “/interface wireless print detail” show?
what clients are used?
How do you mean there is no b/g mode?
[admin@mt-orion] interface wireless> set ap band=
2.4ghz-b 2.4ghz-b/g 2.4ghz-g-turbo 2.4ghz-only-g 5ghz 5ghz-turbo
Asus wl330 see ap when it is in b/g mode, but lets say corega usb stick does not…
ups, i am quite surprised!

i was told 2.4GHz-G is 802.11g only! in the winbox there is 2.4GHz-B, 2.4GHz-G and a new 2.4GHz-G only. Is it new within 2.8.15? it is not in the changelog nor the documentation?!
i cant connect to the mt ap-bridge with airport (mac os x, 802.11b orinoco card) in b/g mode, too! in b-mode it still works.
plus there is a new parameter “radio name”. what does it mean?
i tried “2.4GHz only”, but then the frequency list is empty.
there seem to be some holes in the documentation now…
I have version 2.8.16 and when I set my Atheros 5212 in b/g mode, no 802.11b clients can connect.
Well, as it seems various standalone APs already support b/g years ago. The 802.11g protocol has explicit support for ‘compatibility’ with 802.11b anyway, but if you enable it (the compatible b/g mode) performance will be lower.

Okey guys, can you share your experience with cards in b/g mode.
I tried this card in b/g mode, and 802.11b clients cannot connect.
