I work for a WISP. We have 3 mikrotiks in the air right now. We run Tranzeo cpqs on the end user side of these connections. The three mikrotiks we have all have this problem. We have the tranzeos set to b mode. If we set the Mikrotiks in b only mode some of the tranzoes work, some dont. If I switch it to b/g mode the tranzoes that dont work in b mode only start working good and the tranzoes that worked good in b mode only stop working good. By good I mean if you flood ping them the loss is high and the times suck. I have updated all the firmware on the Mikrotiks and the Tranzeos. I talked to Tranzeo and they say it is a Mikrotik problem. I’m not so sure but any suggestion would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
If you mix radios from different manufacturers, you should not have problems if all devices comply with 802.11 basics. The one setting that occasionally needs to be changed is the Preamble setting.
Just in case some one finds this thread and needs a solution. I ended switching all client radios and ap to 10 MHz and problem went away.
