Back-haul bridging device as a mini-switch?

We were planning on deploying multiple mANTBox 2 12s and attach DISC Lite5 ac as a back-haul to each one of them. Now, the thing is, we wanted the mANTBox 2 (2.4GHz) for it’s higher penetration capability, but connecting a powerful DISC Lites5 ac to each one of them seemed a bit of an overkill. But can we use this “Overkill” to our advantage?

Considering these specs:

  • mANTBox 2 = 600 MHz CPU, 64MB RAM
  • DISC Lite5 ac = 716 MHz CPU, 256 MB RAM
Can’t we use the DISC Lite5 ac as a caching device and some how increase the performance of the mANTBox2? Or perhaps even increase the capacity of clients on the mANTBox 2?
