Hi,
we’ve the effect that at one site where some clients have weak
signal we see not only lower performance on the Interface
to the clients we also see that the pings to the AP are lost.
It’s a 532 routerboard with 2 RB52 (2.9.35), one for backbone and
one for client access. At the other side of the backbone line
there is a 532 with RB52 routing via ethernet.
When there is no traffic to the clients I can send 12-15 MBit
over the backbone line. If one client with weak signal starts
downloading (above 3MBit download rate) we see that the
connection to the AP toggles Bandwith rate and drops packets.
It looks like the AP cant handle the incoming packets in time
,the sending backbone router gets retries and lowers bandwith
rate.
The cpu does not go over 50-60%.
When I limit the traffic to this customer things are getting
better but not completly ok.
When I do bandwith test to the box and the customer starts
downloading my bandwith test rate goes near 0.
It seems to me like a problem with queueing strategy.
I tried pcq on the client interface but this doesn’t change
anything.
Any Ideas?
Stefan
