Backup configuration if I forgot login password

Hello all,

Can I backup configuration if I forgot login password?

No.

If you have access to the router, i.e. via Winbox and Winbox saved the password, but you cant remember it, then yes, you can create a backup, but I suspect if you restore the backup, it will place back the “forgotten” password.

If you do have access as in above, do a full export in terminal windows, copy the exported config file onto your pc, reset the device and then restore config.

If you do not have access to the device, then sorry, start from scratch

If you create unencrypted backup, you can easily get the password from it, search for “mtpass”.
