Backup file size TOO big

I have worked with dude for 2 years and something weird has happened last time. The backup file size has become too big. See the list of backups:

bup-dude-2009.06.24.xml 23.472Kb
bup-dude-2009.07.01.xml 210.853Kb
bup-dude-2009.07.08.xml 213.605Kb
…
Suddenly, file size rises up considerably. I am unaware of the reason, I have operated the Dude in same way all this time. How I could know what is rising the file size up? Enabling device historial take too much space?
