Backup problem

During backup process I have problem with wireless settings.

As you can see there is significant difference. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance.

check your script in test.backup…

..I Think same file test.backup in your device

Your problem is that backup was designed to work ONLY on the board that it was generated on, not on a different physical device. Trying to restore a backup file on a different board will make a partial broken configuration, probably what you are experiencing. It is better to use “/export” and save that to a file. You then should delete router specific information such as MAC addresses from the resulting file.

No that is not the problem because I try this with 4-5 backup files (from different locations in the city) and 2 devices (in my office).

I have noticed that wireless settings are almost the same as default config except wlan name were I have wlan 4,5 and 6 (I have only 3 wireless cards), and ssid where is lepiaf1 (router name, the same rule in default config).

Default config:

[admin@MikroTik] > interface wireless print
Flags: X - disabled, R - running
0 X name=“wlan1” mtu=1500 mac-address=00:0C:42:6B:0B:4B arp=enabled
interface-type=Atheros 11N mode=station ssid=“MikroTik” frequency=5180
band=5ghz-a channel-width=20mhz scan-list=default
wireless-protocol=unspecified wds-mode=disabled wds-default-bridge=none
wds-ignore-ssid=no bridge-mode=enabled default-authentication=yes
default-forwarding=yes default-ap-tx-limit=0 default-client-tx-limit=0
hide-ssid=no security-profile=default compression=no

1 X name=“wlan2” mtu=1500 mac-address=00:0C:42:6A:F7:68 arp=enabled
interface-type=Atheros 11N mode=station ssid=“MikroTik” frequency=5180
band=5ghz-a channel-width=20mhz scan-list=default
wireless-protocol=unspecified wds-mode=disabled wds-default-bridge=none
wds-ignore-ssid=no bridge-mode=enabled default-authentication=yes
default-forwarding=yes default-ap-tx-limit=0 default-client-tx-limit=0
hide-ssid=no security-profile=default compression=no

2 X name=“wlan3” mtu=1500 mac-address=00:0C:42:6A:F6:59 arp=enabled
interface-type=Atheros 11N mode=station ssid=“MikroTik” frequency=5180
band=5ghz-a channel-width=20mhz scan-list=default
wireless-protocol=unspecified wds-mode=disabled wds-default-bridge=none
wds-ignore-ssid=no bridge-mode=enabled default-authentication=yes
default-forwarding=yes default-ap-tx-limit=0 default-client-tx-limit=0
hide-ssid=no security-profile=default compression=no

Maybe the problem is that I drag and drop file from the device to the desktop and again from the desktop to another device.

I apologize for my poor English.

Thaks. In the beginning I used “/export” but I thought “backup” was a much simpler solution.
