I have an internet connection through cable on a MK router.
On the same router i have :
a subnet on cable 192.168.1.0
CAPsMAN configured to provide SSID A (192.168.2.0) to various MK APs
CAPsMAN configured to provide SSID C (192.168.3.0) to various MK APs
What i would like to configure, it’s a backup/alternate internet connection from another WIFI router (4G Modem with WIFI) which will always be active on CAPsMAN SSID C (192.168.4.0) to various MK APs
Really appreciate your support.
The RB2011UAS can be a station on the wifi of that other router. That would give the RB2011 another Internet path. The RB2011 can do policy routing, failover, or load balancingn as needed. Station and AP mode can be combined on the same HW interface (WLAN) if needed, by using virtual interfaces (WLAN). The “station” will define the freq used by the interface, so mostly the “station” is given to the master WLAN interface, the AP operation mode to the virtual WLAN interface. But it can be reversed if the freq is well choosen and set.
It is also what you get when “Repeater Setup” is pushed, what would combine station-pseudobridge and AP on the bridge, just one of the many combinations that can be made.
