Bad signal on 5.7 - 5.8 Ghz frequency.

Dear all,

I have bad signal receive on my RB112 - R52 for 5.7Ghz - 5.8Ghz. Both side using the same RB112 - R52
Its pretty weird, because i scanned the frequency, its showing empty SSID.
But the signal is bad, since the antenna i’m using is 5.1 - 5.9 Ghz, when i set the AP to 5.1Ghz, i scanned 5.1 Ghz from the other side, the signal able to get -60dbm until -70dbm. But when i change to 5.8Ghz and scan 5.7 - 5.8Ghz, the signal only able to receive -82 until -90 dbm. The noise floor is -99 until -102 dbm.

My friend told me that this perhaps because of:

  1. Alvarion / Trango Broadband radio already using the same frequency channel in 5.7 - 5.8 Ghz range.
  2. Something happening on my Receiving Antenna.

So please suggest me how to handle this situation, thanks

it might be a bug or maybe the antenna is not made for that frequency, I have the same problem… but I didn’t find a sollutin; one explanation would be, the more frequency, the less signal. If you solve this problem please send us a response

Tested using Alvarion and Motorola Canopy,
freq 5.7 - 5.8 Ghz also poor signal receiption.
So i guess this channel are fully use by Trango Broadband Wireless.

Anyone would like to share any solution to handle this situation against Trango ?

What brand/model antennas are you using?

nice, you must be suspicious with the antenna right ? :laughing: :laughing:
the antenna is Hyperlink, but not so sure the working frequency.
