Bad signal reception after storm.

Hi lads.

Have weird issue. After storm link quality and overall performance went down and cant get it back. Problem is: Before storm (without thunder) my signal were around -67/68 dBm and CCQ ~100% (p throughput ~29000Kbps / Real Speed 18Mbps) but now all i can get is ~82/83 dBm and CCQ ~55% (p throughput ~13000Kbps / Real speed 8Mbps). I tried to align antenna (32dBi Parabolic Dish) and clean/dry cable - no difference. AP is ok, coz other connected cpe’s has same signal and throughput.

Have you replaced the cable? Maybe the feedhorn?

I’ve had a few odd issues like that, didn’t track down whether it was the feedhorn or the cable, but swapped it out and never had another issue.

Wind worked an antenna loose and shook our tower, apparently that is all it took to allow water into a cable that has been in the air since April of 2008. The antenna/cable in question was not moved, touched or bumped by the one that caused the problems, apparently the vibration of the tower opened something up.

I remember previous versions of Mikrotik feed-horns had problems with condensate, but the wan i have is solid. Anyhow will take feedhorn down and try it to dry for couple days.

I did that with mine, failed after 24 hours when I tried it again. Signal went from -50s to nothing. I did not swap cables yet, just replaced the assembly. Maybe you’ll get lucky.

Yup - feedhorn full of water. When i turned it over - water was dripping out of it. Should i RMA it or its normal?

That isn’t normal for any parts I have used.

I would contact the manufacturer and see what they have to say about it.

dunno who made this part so i contact retailer. Hope on RMA coz it should come with warranty.
