Bandwidth Accounting -- Traffic Counter?

Several years ago, I wrote a foxpro DOS program to take the data from our core MT router with the Log Downloader program. Of late, my program has died and wanting a better solution to give accounting department for bandwidth usage per IP address.

The traffic counter program seems quirky-- is that the only program around that can break down usage?

(The ips are on a mix of customer cpe equipment, MT as well as canopy etc…)

Any ideas GREATLY welcomed!!

One of the option is SNMP, as if your clien has ‘queue’ assigned, both ‘queue simple’ and ‘queue tree’ provide information over SNMP. You may setup one SNMP server/collector, that will gather information from them and draw the diagram of usage (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly).

Check out for MRTG, it is very nice software.
