Hi, I am planning to buy Mikrotik RB750Gr3 HEX Gigabit Router and i just want to ask if it is possible to limit my subscribed 500Mbps ISP plan to my 25 wired devices with each having 20Mbps (both download and upload). I am watching tutorial videos online and they gave an example of bandwidth limitation up to 10Mbps only. Is that the max bandwidth limit of the gigabit router Mikrotik RB750Gr3? Can i adjust the bandwidth limit per ip address/range to 20Mbps on this gigabit router?
10 or 20… not a difference, it is just a parameter.
The nice thing about the MT is that you can set it up such that all are limited to their “quota” but still make excessive bandwidth not being used available to them.
So if 10 people get 20mbps (200mbps). IF only 5 people are on then an extra 100mbps is available - the question I have is, is the excess shared equally or goes to the first person accessing it??
If you use PCQ, then yes.
If all queues are configured manually, you can use priority to modify this behaviour in favour of some users.
