Bandwidth limit problem

Hallo everyone,

i have a Mikrotik rrb960pgs that i will connect it with an AP.
i want to use it for a restaurant that has about 50 clients.
I have a total of 25Mbps download and 4mbps upload from my ISP and i want to limit the clients so the can only use a max of 5mbps download and 1mbps upload.
i have installed the latest firmware version on the router and i am using winbox to configure it.
So i tried to use a simple queue for my computer first just by targeting my ip and define the max target limits. Then i did a speed test but the limit didnt work, i could see all 26mbps and upload.
Is there anyone can help me with this?
I was also wondering is there any way to target a range of ip’s-clients ?

Thanks in advance,
Aris

So you need to post your configs as I can get it working just fine using simple queues. You can easily set the queue to apply to a range of IPs by simply using CIDR notation. EX; 10.1.1.0/24 would apply to all IP addresses between 10.1.1.1-10.1.1.254.

You can clearly see the first test with the queue in place and the second test with the queue disabled.

hi, use eg 192.168.0.0/24 in target, then it should queue the entire subnet.

Also check if you have fastrack enabled in the firewall, it could cause the queue not to limit your upload.
