hi all…
only a little problem … at the moment i test a wlan link for what ever…
the configuration is rb112 2432MHz=> WRAP 5800 Turbo => WRAP 5800 Turbo and it runs very fast and good..
if i test it with mikrotik bandwith test on my notebook…(complete line)…
the bandwidth test disconnects after a while (DOS Ping runs) … and in rb112 memory decreases
now my question… is there a timout in bandwitdth test and why memory in rb112 is counting down from 5.7 MB till 2 MB ?
best regards

So… I found it…
a new test with some wrap boards gave the answer .. again… 2.4 ghz => 2,4/5.7 ghz => 5.7 ghz… the application is for doing an 5 ghz backbone with 2.4 ghz edgepoints (in this case in a football stadium)… so if you connect the edge points with rb112 (2.4 ghz) as slave and generate traffic over the line…rb112 is counting down his memory till it´s to small… then reboots…and starts again
.. other routerboards working fine… so… DO NOT USE RB112 Boards for realtime applications
That’s interesting Gerd.
What version of RouterOS are you running? I haven’t seen this problem on our 112s.
George
hi george…
we using 2.9.37 … you can see it if you are testing a line .. maybe rb112(with one wireless interface) => wrap board (with 2 wlan interfaces) => wrap board (with 2 wlan interfaces) .. our config is 5.700 ghz between the wrap boards, 2.437ghz between wrap and rb112… now you connect your pc on wrap 1 and take bandwidth test to rb112 … now you have a look to recources of rb112… memory is counting down…and if its down enough…it boots…

i think this is not a problem for the most applications… should the rb112 boot if 3 users want to go to internet, who shells … but we have some applications in event area… like opening lightshows (olympia, football worldcup etc.) where the communication between the lightdesk and maybe 250 space cannons in 4 km distance have to run during the show…
… they have to run !! …in the past we did it with aphelions…but i think because of the routing facility in wlan environments mikrotik is the best… because we can now buildt redundant systems…and use the dude as management…great stuff…
