Recently I discovered a problem, what I consider a problem, with
bandwidth test, doing directly on an ethernet card. I did this test
with a RB333. The test was with TCP both directions. I used btest
from a Windows XP computer and the other end a RB333, both connected
with switch, and in another case directly connected to eatch other.
Theorically since the computer and RB333 are physically connected
to eache other I should have a result of nearly 100Mbps, right?
Well at my surprise I was having 2Mbps at TX and some 20Mbps at RX.
Then, at a certain point it will also disconnect.
I consider this a real issue. It looks like the ethernet transmit capacity
is also limiting the Wireless transmit capacity, when I do tests between
two RB333 connected with wireless I have roughly 25Mbps at 5GHz band.
What I first thought this was a limit of wireless cards now looks like is more
a limit of the ethernet cards.
Any thought or tweak greatly appriciated
