Hi,
I need help setting up Mikrotik. I had it working but I lost the config and now I cannot get it to work. I have 3 ethernet ports. I want to use 1 for the WAN port. Cable modem.
1 for LAN port, and 1 for WLAN port. I have these 3 set up. I do not have the correct rules to set up NAT and allow the LAN access to the WAN. I have tried everything and It will not work. I actually do know some about setting this up but not enough.
Is there somewhere I can look that might have a complete router dump that would allow me to see how it is configured. Even better would be something with comments.
Thanks.
Don
Thanks for the suggestion, but I have already tried that. This thing just will not work.
I have even wiped and re-installed the OS and tried it. I follow the setup and add the NAT and it still does not work. Everything I have read says it should. All of the interfaces are talking to the various segments. I would swear to it. They are all brand new cards.
I actually had it working once, but I changed something and then it stopped and even removing the change and re-booting did not help. But that was 2 or 3 re-loads ago.
Anyone else want to try ? I am perfectly willing to wipe it and start from scratch if I have to.
What exacly does not work for you now ?
Probably, it will be easier to reset the configuration by ‘system reset-configuration’ and start configuration from the beginning following the docs.
Actually, I have tried that more than once and it did not work. I was totally crazed by it’s refusal to work. So late last night around 3am, I wiped the config and installed the r4 beta version of 3.0 I figured I had nothing to loose.
The silly thing is working! Same configs we tried before! Now they are working.
It was actually easy!
I am at a loss. Go figure! I still can’t believe it!.
Thanks for everyone’s help.

In that case, I really am confused. But it is working, so I do not intend to find out what happened, but it is strange. As long as it continues to work, I will be very happy.
