Hello All,
I am new at this and am having issues with basic connectivity between the computer and the 411ah board.
411ah board`s ether1 is connected to my computer.
Computer`s Info:
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::ed1d:ec63:b4f9:d27%10
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 142.92.62.181
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.224.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 142.92.32.1
IP`s I assigned to the board:
ether1 : 142.92.32.1
wlan1: 192.168.1.1
The issue is I cant connect into WinBox using ether1s IP(142.92.32.1). Putting the address in the browser doesnt work either. I tried to ping the computer from WinBox(logged in using MAC) and doesnt work either and vice-versa.
To help you understand the complete picture here is what I am trying to acomplish:
[Network Device(ex. Camera)] ------------ [411AH(2)]- - - - -Wireless- - - - - -[411AH(1)]-----------[Computer]
I am planning on making
411AH(2) an ap bridge
411AH(1) a switch
Another question I had was, would I be able to connect to 411AH(2) from the Computer?
Also I am using 900MHz cards on both boards if that makes a difference.
Anyone please pitch in with any suggestions and clarifications. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Did you use a crossover cable & set the IPs already?

I used straight cable. Could that be it? I read in the manual the that the port supports Auto MDI/X. I am trying to use PoE.
And yes yesterday I was able to connect via MAC address and using WinBox I set the IP’s as above.
However, today I am unable to even connect using the MAC. WinBox is unable to find any connections available.
Thanks
You must if there is a firewall or antivirus running on the computer, disabling them and try to connect again to router.

Did you mean I must be able to connect or I must use crossover cables?
I haven’t used a 411 but on my 433 I have to plug directly in, regular cable, power cycle the router, then leave winbox up and hop on via MAC when I lock myself out with a bad firewall rule. It doesn’t like it if I don’t power cycle for some reason. Also, see if NOT using PoE and use a regular DC power helps.
I do not think that you have a cable issue, so maybe something is blocking ports like a firewall or antivirus. Did you try with other computer?

Thank you very much. I figured it out. Silly me, I had an addressing issue. Wasn’t on the correct network.
Anyone up for answering any one of my other questions?
Of course we’ll try, go ahead!

Hello guys,
I am having issues connecting 411AH(#1 ) to 411AH(#2 ). I have configured them one of them as an AP Bridge while the other as a Station following http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Wireless_AP_Client
I can find the AP (411#2) from the station (411#1) if i scan the station.
Currently both of them are connected to separate computers.
I think you want both in bridge mode if you’re just connecting 2 computers and are not making one act as an access point.

I want to connect a network camera to one of the 411’s and have it send signal wirelessly to a client computer attached to another 411.
Currently instead of the computer I have a comptuer setup instead for testing.
Thanks for your help.
