Basic mAP wireless ethernet bridge does not work

Hello,
I have been fighting on this one for 2 days now and tried everything already found on the forums in vain.

I am simply trying to make the basic wireless ethernet setup work:

ISP gateway … wifi … mAP=== Laptop (ethernet port)

I started as recommended with the default configuration on which I simply connected the wlan1 interface as a station to my home GW.
Then I set up :

  • DHCP client for the wlan1 interface → ok obtained IP 192.168.1.82 for wlan1
  • DHCP server on the ether1 interface → ok the laptop hooked through ethernet gets IP 172.16.9.5

I also configured the masquerade rule in the firewall.

I removed any existing bridge.
From the mAP, I can ping everything and have internet access.
From the ethernet-connected laptop, I cannot ping www.google.con nor access the web.

I know this is supposed to work but something fails somewhere and I cannot get a grip on what.

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks
Hacen

What is your dhcp network configuration? Do you have DNS servers set up and is dns ‘remote requests’ enabled? Can you ping by ip address (e.g. 8.8.8.8 ) from laptop?
