Basics: connecting to the internet

I cannot get my hex to connect to the internet.

I have just switched to a new ISP. I connect to the internet fine from a laptop directly to the modem.

I just purchased a hex. I can access the hex fine from my laptop (i.e. LAN access to the web interface for example), but the hex cannot access the internet. (If I ping 8.8.8.8 from the web interface, for example, it just times out).

Is there some configuration necessary out of the box?

Does your Hex get an IP ?
You will see that in IP DHCP client.

And the quick set screen FWIW:

I should also mention that I just attached a netgear router to the new ISP and had no troubles.

Thanks, in advance

If you see in the DHCP client there is no IP assigned to your router…

I’m sure you connected RB to modem using ether1 interface …

And a suggestion: when you get internet connectiviry, upgrade RouterOS to latest stable as quickly as possible.

So, what needs to be done?

Computers attached to the modem and other routers attached to the modem access the internet successfully. What configuration changes are necessary to the Hex?

Hex port number to the modem?
