benchtest results

Thought I would share my latest benchtest results with Mikrotik 2.9.8 on routerboard 532.
signal -39
rate 54 Mbps
actual tcp transfer 17.1 Mbps
5 Ghz turbo mode
Where is the real 54 Mbps.Is that just a gimmick to make me buy this OS.

It’s not the fastest but i kinda get the feeling that there are things you missed when you configured the units.

54 Mbit is line speed just as 125 Mbit is 100 Mbit ether line speed. Marketing likes to pick the biggest number (why do these people get paid again?) but in this case i kinda understand why everyone else follows. 54 Mbit gives the wrong impression, i know, but you can find that out by just googling.

I just got a very stable 17.2 mbit tcp on a 15km link using RB5xx (i forget model) on each side. regular 5ghz (no turbo). Signal strength is -75
The whole unit(s) including built-in antennas are smaller dimensions than mikrotik’s low cost cpe. I’m not saying it’s the fastest, i just tested a link i knew the distance of.

I have reached 80 or so mbit (udp) in the lab but labtests never reflect reality and can easily be manipulated. Such as i could make the very same link (identical configuration) perform only 20mbit using different test settings.

Such as a cisco switch or router can handle X number of packets pr second but default configuration can only handle X/3 packets pr second.

My point is then, what values do i choose to market my product with? And do you agree that
