I tried with 3 different models of USB Modem 3G into my RB2011U but any of them worked very well. Most of the problems were related to the “Invalid Port” state at the USB. Finally, I “fixed” the problem more or less with a script that power reset the USB Port.

As you could expect, this is not a final fix for a backup access so I would like to adquire some 4G/3G USB Modem that works better with Mikrotik. I go for 4G because I supose that will have more support in next future.
I know that there is a supported list hardware but, appart of that… There is any recommended 4G/3G USB Modem or Chipset for Mikrotik?
I went through the same process with the RB2011 and USB Modems. The problem was that the RB2011s weren’t putting out enough current to power any of the modems reliably. Although using a USB hub or USB power inserter worked, the ultimate solution was to not use the RB2011. Instead I’m using the RB750UP.
