Best cables for outdoor

Last winter in some of towers where I use RB500 and RB230 with mikrotik 5ghz parabolic antennas I had some problems with cables and N male connectors so I am going to reconstruct entire system so I would to like hear from others what would be the best cables for use when temperature can go to -25C and in summer to 35, and best way to isolater N male conectors.

Whilst the temp in the UK doesn’t get as low as -25C we do get a lot of rain. I use LMR400 and crimp N-Type connectors. You do need to weather seal them and for that I use self amalamating tape which you stretch onto the connector and down the cable a bit, cover with PVC insulation tape (Scotch 33)

The are many articles about this especially from Radio Hams.

Thanks for your reply, this was a prove that I had taken right steps and just not been lucky and get some non quality LMR - 400  which has been screawed by the time mostly 6 months, and that had make me a lot of hadache .

You can get clamp type N connectors for LMR , you can also get LMR400DB ( direct burial), it shoul dbe a bit more weather proof . The problem i’ve seen with crimp connectors is the cable is only secured by the braid ,and it seems to work a tiny bit loose after a while…Solder the centre pin on too .
