Dear All,

i am running a medium hotspot project where i had hotspot software installed to PC-server and connected to CPE’s, however due to bad performance of the program i am now looking for a better solution.

i am expecting 300 to 500 concurrent users with a large wifi goes up to 5 KM coverage in rural city as i am the only source of internet available at the moment, all users will log in to system by wifi.

now after days surfing all MIKROTIK RouterBoards and OS i am still confuse which router should i use,

its better to go with X86 Board or You can use high Speed Serve like 520 Gb hdd Intel i5 3Ghz processor 6 GB RAM

many thanks for your reply,

well that server you mentioned is what i am using in now, but the software i purchased it has alot of issues and always hang, that why i am moving to better solution (Mikrotik),

regarding the RouterOS software licence i am taking Level 5, but i am confused which RouterBoard should i buy and with what MiniPCI Network card i should install.

dear,

you can install router os level 5 on your server & same server wil work as your usermanager too, which is billing software for hotspot

Thank you very much for your advice, yes to start right from the beginning is the best way to start a business and selecting the best performance products like server or enterprise routerboard is the only way of customer satisfaction,
