If you are concerned that your router was compromised and thats why you need it “cleaned”, then you need to do a net reinstall.

hi, It depends, I always do it with “no default config” so that the router is really clean and you can start over. cheers

I have never have had to reset the config… but I think i see your dilemma.

You may have to do something similar to this…
https://www.mikrotik.com.my/reset-to-factory-default-settings/

Try only the box, no backup! and then select the reset configuration button.
Otherwise what I recommended above this option.,

I came to this thread wondering whether people were going to suggest simply wiping it off with a damp cloth, soap and water, or some kind of disinfecting cloth, and wound up being mildly disappointed. :wink:
