Best Practices for initial Dude install?

Is there any best practices documentation out there? I’m new to MicroTik’s and The Dude…but my environment has hundreds of MicroTik routers in play. I’m tasked with trying to wrangle all our MicroTik’s together using The Dude…mostly for mass config changes in the future.

Is it recommended to use the RB1100AHx4 Dude Edition? Or should I go virtual?

Any and all insight is appreciated…thanks!

Yes. Installation guide and requirements see below:

Hello Elans, can you tell us if is still up Dude project? Was a good start around two years ago but it seems was slow down in totally. Just my point…

Thank you!

Thanks! I have read both of those links…but I’m specifically looking for opinions based on others’ experiences.

So, based on experience, should I go with the virtual router or the hardware router to host our Dude install?

Thanks!

Anyone tried both the CHR (virtual) and hardware Dude edition router and prefer working with one over the other?
