Hi Guys,
I am very new to MikroTik and have been looking through the forums which has resulted in me becoming quite confused, so please forgive my ignorance.
I have an RB2011UAS-2HnD which I am intending to replace my Draytek Vigor 2820N with.
I have successfully configured Port 1 as the WAN Port, The wireless is functioning and Port 2 is configured as Ethernet LAN and running a DHCP server.
I did this configuration using the “Quick Set” tool.
I have upgraded the router to version 6.9.
The primary reason for upgrading from my Draytek to the MikroTik router is to gain more ports without having to run a separate switch. I have since realised that this router has 2 switches in it. Meaning 50% of the ports on switch A and 50% on switch B.
What is the best configuration from this point that will result in port 1 remaining the WAN port and ports 2-10 becoming LAN ports with DHCP. All ports able to communicate on one LAN and all ports receiving DHCP from the same pool.
Later I intend to run queuing on WAN traffic to prioritise VOIP and other services. I don’t know if this will impact the initial configuration at this point, however I am mentioning it just in case.
Thanks for any assistance you may be able to provide.
