Beta 5 killed my Board??

I ftp’d the 3 b5 to my rb112 and rebooted. Beta 5 loaded but CPU was showing 100%

My RB112 got really hot / and I have not been able to logon using winbox on IP or Mac address.

Any suggestions.. I had an SR9 card in the m-pci slot. Previous version of OS worked great, just wanted to get into the BETA so that the SR9 Frequncies showed up in OS.

Can anyone point me to a topic on how to get to the console using a null modem cable??

PLEASE HELP!

The same thing happened to me while testing. I had to remove the wireless cards and use a serial cable to get into the router, I was then able to reset it. The information for using a serial cable is in the routerboard user manual.

Even though I have reset the board, the response from the router using Winbox seems a little slow…might this be because I used ftp to upgrade rather than NetInstall?

Thanks,
Ken

I managed to get back up and running on .39. Tried the Beta 5 load, and once again 100% CPU … will not run…

Thanks for your post, I was planning on testing b5 on one of my RB 112s when they got here. Guess I’ll save my time and wait for b6 .

Ended up that my storage was corrupt. Formatted the nand and reloaded RB100 bios fw… reloaded router OS… then
Ftp’d appropriate Beta 5 packages reboot…

Voila! back in business.

Very nice to have the 900Mhz fq settings now.

There have been others with same symptoms…

This thread may be worth a “Sticky”…
