Better Mikrotik in HDD or DOM ??

hello..

which one will perform better performance for PC that running mikrotik.
running mikrotik using harddisk drive or disk on module? or use disk on module and save the proxy cache into harddisk drive?

why?

Due to the read/writes your proxy/cache will have, use a HD. Otherwise, performance wise (maybe startup) will make no difference once the system is running. on the HD, use a SATA at least…

so no need to put mikrotik on 2 HDD?

1 HDD for system
1 HDD for cache proxy

couple month ago i read about an issue that if system and proxy put in the same harddrive, sometimes it will stuck, and need time (about 10 or 20 seconds) to read the cache.

i think DOM will be better. We have been using since 2005. For HDD it’s chance for crash. We have lots of experience about that. At last i think CF is da best.

DOM for System, HD for Cache. You can also use a Compact Flash Card as well.
