Dear Member,
I have 2 BGP routers which both are receiving full routing tables from upstream.
Below this 2 BGP routers, I have a distribution router which I am thinking to run OSPF to those 2 BGP routers.
I am hoping those 2 BGP routers would inject default route to this distribution router via OSPF and only 1 of the default route would be used (using preference?)
Is this a good way to this?
Thanks!
That would work. If you don’t mind a single point of failure (and why receive full BGP routing on your 2 routers in that scenario?)
I am running ibgp between the 2 bgp routers so with full routes it is able to send to optmised path.
We have multiple distribution router so with ospf to two bgp routers we would have redudancy on the default gateway.
I noticed that it takes 45 seconds for the failed bgp default route withdraw from the distribution router from ospf.
Is that normal?
Depends on what you timers are set for and what type of failure you are talking about.
