2.9.x + routing test

Where can I find the differences between the standard routing package in v2.9.7 and the routing test package?

When does MikroTik expect to have routing test supported in Winbox?

Thanks,

Brad

Dear Sir/Madam;

We would like to setup a bgp connection between us and our provider. Provider side uses Juniper M160 unfortunately we cant get a connection, after that to make sure everything is ok we have downloaded and installed the routing.test package, the test package first out putted an error of not having a routerid then we entered the routerid so it worked correctly using the test package. Then we disabled the test package and tried to connect via bgp. BGP never establishes a connection and provides the error supplied below:

show log messages

M160Ist-re0 rpd[2857]: bgp_recv: peer xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (External AS xxxxx): received unexpected EOF
M160Ist-re0 rpd[2857]: bgp_recv: peer xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (External AS xxxxx): received unexpected EOF
M160Ist-re0 rpd[2857]: bgp_recv: peer xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (External AS xxxxx): received unexpected EOF

So having those errors we tried to solve the problem using the information supplied on the link http://www.mikrotik.com/docs/ros/2.9/routing/bgp .On the same page under the bgp command reference we tried to use the quick setup info provided by you on your website.

For your information there was no command or arguement called instance.

After all the diagnostics that we made we think that it is because of TTL’s timing . It is configured as 1 in the test package and that works but we couldnt set the TTL timing under the router bgp suite. Do you have any idea?

routing test is completely different from the regular routing package, it uses different BGP and has more features. so try 2.9.11 and the test package.

also we try it with 2.9.11 routing.test package and connect bgp. but there is no network identification field on this test package.

Hello,

We are very interested in seeing MikroTik further develop their BGP module. Can you explain what the differences are between the standard BGP in v2.9.7 and the “new” BGP?

Also, will there be a filtering option added to the GUI so we don’t have to wait for all 176k+ routes to fill. We’d really like to see a way to only show routes related to our network or destined for specific gateway etc, etc.

Thanks,

Brad

This feature will be available in the future versions of RouterOS.

@natrohost: I’m using the routing-test package from 7 months and I’ve got no problems connecting to Junipers and Ciscos of my upstate providers. Give it a try
