BGP Newbie question

We have small network with 40mb upstream connection and /22 and couple of /24’s from them.
We have 3ghz x86 Box running MT, with one port in and 4 ports out with /24’s and /26’s assigned to each.

We have a ‘large’ potential customer that wants us for backup for their 30mb fiber from local telecom.

They want to implement BGP, and my upstream provider can assist, but we obviosly have to add BGP to our network to pass the routes through to them.

Any suggestions or pointers?

Thanks,
Randall

will your provider allow your customer to just peer directly with them and bypass yours? You can use multihop bgp to accomplish that, then you dont have to do anything differently.

I’ll ask. Don’t know anything about BGP, so I appreciate any input!

Randall
