I was thinking of putting a router in a network data center. It will feed a wireless backhaul to me outside and obtain bandwidth in the data center. What I want to do there is dual home between two providers in the data center. I would like to get 45mbps from a cheap provider and 5mbps from a tier1 provider and balance them. Basically only use the 5mbps if there was not a route on the 45 connection or it was very poor on the 45 connection. It will also meet ARIN’s requirements to be multihomed to obtain IP’s directly from them.
Is this possible with BGP? How is something like this accomplished? Is the BGP implementation in Mikrotik stable?
