BGP With VLANs at Update Sources

Hi everyone!

I have 2 dedicated links, one coming from SFP+ port and the another in the SFP port, in my CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+ doing BGP. And I would like to have another dedicated link on my CCR, but I don’t have another SFP port to connect, then the obvious option would be to buy a new CCR.

But I thought in another way to make it. Instead of buying a new CCR, what if I buy a switch with SFP+ ports and then make VLANs to reach my only SFP+ port of my CCR1009 and marking the VLANs I created on the update sources of the BGP Peers.

Should this work? If it works, then my setup would be: CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+ and CRS317-1G-16S+RM.

Sure, BGP only requires TCP reachability so there’s no reason that wouldn’t work. I would usually advise that you consider the high-availability ramifications but since you only have one router anyway, I’m not sure it impacts the situation much.
