Big differences with nstreme

Hello from Greece,

I have some questions for nstreme.

  1. With nstreme disabled i get very bad results in bandwidth test.
UDP one way ~ 27Mbps which is ok, but in UDP both, TCP one way and TCP both the results are very bad.
Also, during the test, the CCQ drops from 90 to 10-20%, the rates from 54Mbps drops down to 6Mbps and the ping is too bad.

With nstreme enabled the results are OK.
UDP send & receive ~ 37Mbps
UDP both ~ 19Mbps
TCP send & receive ~ 24-30Mbps
TCP both ~ 10-15Mbps

During the test, the CCQ is 100%, the rates are at 54Mbps all the time and the ping is good (20-100ms).

I’m using 433ah + wistron cm9, offset dishes 80x85cm, hand maded feeders, 5.3km distance, tx power at 0dBm, -65dB signal strength and i have clear line of sight.

  1. The only problem that i have with enabled nstreme is when i make a change in the AP (for example increasing the tx power), the client connects in about 1 minute. During this time i see in the log some “deauth”. When i make a change in the client, the ap connects immediatly.

I’m using WPA2 PSK encryption, ap-bridge - station pseudobridge.

Do you have any ideas for these 2?

try aes encryption instead of psk.
aes is hardware encryption while psk is software encryption.
making aes more efficient.

You can also try specifying appropriate frequencies in a scan list, which will shorten the reconnect delay.

PSK is not encryption but authentication method.

encryption: AES or TKIP
authentication PSK or EAP

tgrand i use wpa2 psk aes and in the scan list i have put only the frequency i use.

cieplik206 is correct.

Do you have any other ideas for my 2 questions?

Try unselecting some of your lowest datarates.
Retransmits may cause datarate scaling. which will at times be worse for performance than the retransmits.

I recommend supporting the lowest rate.

I have tried all the combinations of data rates (and default) and always the same problem. When i make a change from ap side, the client reconnects after 1min.
