We want to design wireless network (hotspot) that covers and provide internet for every point of a big mall with several floor.
There is single cable internet cable at the center of each floor.
My question is what are the best Mikrotik hardware for this job and which aspects of device matters here? Should it be Mesh or just repeaters (Considering all APs connects to the floor central unit)?
For example I considered SXTsq Lite2 for final access points because of it high antenna gain (if it matters). Is it better than CAP Lite for example? How many user can they handle?
What about the central access point in each floor that other devices connects to it (It must provide internet for all APs on same floor)?
And what about the central unit which provides Hotspot login (I though of a PC with Mikrotik Cloud)?
Being totally honest you sound like you need a local consultant rather than help from the community with this. It’s not just the design but the implementation as well will need to be very specific and a local consultant will be able to do all of this for you.
For kit, the cAP or wAP AC would probably be a go to option, aim for smaller cells with dual band and non overlapping coverage and spec as many as you’d need following coverage checks on site. This would keep your capacity high and maximise total amount of users.
A hotspot system would again be ideal and you need to ask what if any data you are harvesting and what your countries laws are regarding retention of that data.
